HM Queen Elizabeth II in Canberra

The Queen leaves church after attending morning service in Canberra on Sunday morning (Oct 23). Nearly a thousand people turned out to welcome the British Monarch who is making her sixteenth visit to Australia. Well-wishers gave three cheers for her as the Queen spoke to dozens of children who gave her flowers and other gifts. The Queen was wearing the same primrose yellow outfit she wore for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earlier this year. The British monarch has a busy week ahead of her, visiting Brisbane and Melbourne before arriving in Perth for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference.
