Lightning Tears Through Mildura Causing Major Blackouts and Leaving Trail of Destruction

More than 21,000 homes were without electricity in Mildura on November 11 after a lightning storm ripped through the region knocking out trees and power lines. The storms hit the region about 7:45 pm, continued throughout the night and pelted the area with powerful winds, hail storms, and thunder. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-12/mildura-storm-mini-tornado-damages-buildings-power-outages/8019976 According to the SES , Mildura was one of the worst hit areas, with reports of a mini-tornado sweeping through the region and damaging buildings.
