Israel intervenes in West Bank protests against killing of Palestinian man (2)

NABLUS, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 20: Israeli forces intervened in the protests held across West Bank on Thursday, Oct. 20, against the death of a 22-year-old Palestinian man, Udai Tamimi. They fired rubber bullets at the Palestinian protesters who threw stones in return. Protests were held across the West Bank for Tamimi, who was killed by Israeli forces. Earlier, the Fatah movement called for a general strike to "protest the Israeli occupation crimes." In a statement, it also called for intensified confrontations with Israeli forces in all areas across the West Bank. The Palestinian teachers union announced a suspension of work in all schools to protest the Israeli assaults on Palestinians. Palestinian groups have made several calls for a rally in the northern West Bank city of Nablus to protest Israeli assaults. Late on Wednesday, the Israeli forces shot dead Tamimi as he exchanged fire with soldiers near a settlement in occupied East Jerusalem.
