Humpback Whales Spotted Breaching Off North Carolina Coast

A humpback whale was seen breaching the waters in front of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse at Carteret County, North Carolina, on January 11. Video recorded by Jan Tugwell shows whales splashing nearby. Tugwell told Storyful that she and her friend found "2, possibly 3 humpback whales 'playing'" while boating around the area that day.
