Literature: David Peace interview; Part 5 of 5 (continued)ENGLAND: Manchester: Old Trafford Stadium:EXTDavid Peace (Author) interview SOT- (Can the essence of what football brings to people, does it survive the corporate interest) I still think it does / although I support Huddersfield Town, my son is a Manchester United supporter / I see the joy, that desire as a little boy to pull on that red shirt; that kind of magic, it's the magic of the game / yes, clubs are owned by foreign companies and so forth, but regardless of where you're from, it's still the dream for boys and girls now all over, that dream is still alive / nothing can ever take that away- (On what he thinks his father would have made of the book) It sounds a bit bizarre but I used to read the books to him as a way of checking them, and it sounds a bit mystical but I felt his presence as I was writing the book / it was a way to keep that conversation going; I think and hope he enjoyed that conversation.
