The Blakeman family celebrates the third annual 'Concert for Kyle' at Civic Green Park in Highlands Ranch, themed "Remember, Celebrate, Educate." Former football teammates of Kyle's, Wes Friant, 16, left, and Matthew Ewen, 15, put on giant boxing gloves and try to make each other fall. The benefit concert will offer community members the chance to remember and celebrate the inspirational life of Kyle Blakeman, a ThunderRidge High School student diagnosed at 13 with a rare cancer, Renal Medullary Carcinoma, and also educate attendees about childhood cancer, the second leading cause of death among children in the United States. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Kyle Blakeman Memorial Fund, which has raised over $18,000 to date for the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at The Children's Hospital in Denver.
