Twelve Days of Christmas

Previously unissued photo dated 18/12/12 of six geese, pictured at the Glasgow Museum Resource Centre, representing the Six Geese-a-Laying during a Twelve Days of Christmas themed tour organised by the museum. Geese were among the first birds to be domesticated and over time, goose became a traditional Christmas meal. The popularity of turkey in Britain is pretty recent and might have had something to do with the fact that Scrooge sends it to Bob Cratchitt in A Christmas Carol.
