John Witherspoon on Being a Father to Anyone Who Needs One

John Witherspoon: A lot of uh-uh families that have broken up in-in you know, across the country and the world, you know and-and what’s so good about us is we-we still you see I got my wife, um and my wife is uh, what’s wrong you know, she’s always concerned and I got a son, and um I’m the father. That’s why on the-on the when I’m across the country and doing stand-up and in clubs and theatres, the people coming up to me all want to- they all want to hug and you know, “Can I get a hug?” I get a lot of that. So it’s all family. A lot of people don’t have fathers. That’s why I try to be the father of anybody. Who want a hug, I’ll give it to them.
