(Original Caption) USA's Jim Ryun seems almost bored as he glances back to check his competition during the 1500 meter run semifinal 10/19. The man reckoned to be Ryan's chief rival in the 1500 meter event, kipcharge Keine of Kenya, runs well behind at left. Ryun won in 3:51.2, a long way from his own world mark of 3:33.1, but the result was inconclusive because neither man seemed to be running hard. They meet 10/20 for the nitty-gritty- the finals, and the Olympic gold.
