Thousands of farmers gather to protest nitrogen emission reduction plan in Netherlands

THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - MARCH 11: Thousands of farmers from different cities in the Netherlands gathered in The Hague to protest the government's agricultural policies. Organized with the support of various institutions, thousands of protesters from different cities in the country participated in the demonstration. The farmers gathered in Zuider Park to protest the government's decision to reduce nitrogen emissions. The city council of The Hague banned tractors from entering the city to maintain public order. The council issued an "emergency order" and only allowed two tractors to participate in the demonstration. Barriers were placed on some roads to prevent the protesters from entering the city center. Police also prevented some farmers from participating in the demonstration with their tractors. During the protest, the leader of the Islamophobic and anti-immigrant far-right Party for Freedom (PVV), Geert Wilders, and the leader of the far-right Forum for Democracy (FvD), Thierry Baudet, also gave speeches.
