You’re shaking your head. You’re used to hearing that.” MS: Franklin says, “Everyone has something different to analyze or something different to say, but it’s hard when you do hear it kind of from all these different angles. Why?” MS: Franklin says, “No. Swimming in college has always been a dream of mine, especially growing up and seeing my older teammates go off to college and coming back in spring break and winter and just saying how much they love it. And you want to go out there and make them proud.” MS: Lauer says, “Yeah, but-- but the fact of the matter is you also at times are going to have to swim competitively against—(Franklin: Teammates, Yeah.) your teammates. And so is that hard for you? Is it—(Franklin: Absolutely.) --do you-- do you get upset when they don’t do well?” MS: Franklin says, “During the race, we’re competitors. When we get up on the blocks and when we finish, we’re competitors. And, you know, you-- you say all the things that I would want you to say that it’s I’m concentrating on being a junior in high school and the Olympics are just a date on a calendar and I like the team aspect more than the individual aspect. At some point, do you think the attention that surrounds you is going to have more of a dramatic impact on you?” MS: Franklin says, “I-- I hope not. I mean, right now, it’s-- I’ve been able to meet so many incredible people and do so many things that I never thought I would be able to do.
