Making Dried Persimmons in Hiroshima - Stockvideo

Group shot of persimmons hanging from the eaves. Mitsugi-cho in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, in the western part of the Chugoku region, has been producing dried persimmons for some 400 years. Many persimmon trees have always grown in Mitsugi-cho’s mountainous area. At an altitude of 300 meters, the area around the mountain peak is not affected by mist, receiving ample sunlight. Furthermore, the area is windy and there are large differences in temperature between daytime and nighttime, making the area perfect for making dried persimmons.
