Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly testifies before the House Homeland Security Committee ostensibly to discuss border security practices and plans of the Trump administration. Kelly addresses an executive action of the Trump administration placing a temporary moratorium on certain travelers inbound to the United States, committing to vigorously defending the country and following the laws while facilitating trade and travel, balanced with security, privacy and civil rights. Kelly calls judicial review on a travel moratorium issued by the Trump administration appropriate, saying he believes the administration will prevail in litigation, that Americans must feel safe walking down the street, in a mall or in a nightclub, concluding it is the responsibility of the department to carry out measures at ensure the safety of American lives, his foremost concern.
