Boris Johnson interview; ENGLAND: Kent: EXT Boris Johnson MP (Prime Minister) interview SOT (2 of 2) Q: On COVID-19 and likelihood of vaccine before end of year - I wish I could say I was 100% for a vaccine - There's hundreds of ventures in the fields - We have world leading scientists working this - We're investing in potential vaccines - I'm hopeful, I've got my fingers crossed to say we will get a vaccine this or next year - We're not there yet - If you talk of the scientist they think the weight of international effort we will get some vaccines or treatment which will make a huge different - We need to continue with measure of social distancing, washing our hands, wearing masks - Then we will continue to drive the virus down by our collective action Q: On PM's view of whether it should be easier for someone to change their gender / when government will ban gay conversion therapy - On the gay conversion therapy it's abhorrent and has no place in society - We're going to do a study on where this is happening - We will bring forward plans to stop it - On gender recognition act, we said we will be responding over the summer and that's what we're going to do
