Lynching Of Black Youth

3/13/1935-Slayden, MS: Spectaters view the body of Ab Young colored boy after he had been lynched by a mob of 50 men, at Slayden, MS, March 12. Young was accused of fatally shooting Hardie Mackie, 45, State Highway worker. Members of the mob placed a rope around his neck as Young stood in a truck, tied the rope to the limb of an Oak tree in a schoolyard and drove the truck from under him. A "Thorough Investigation" into the lynching has been pomised by Prosecuting attorney E.C. Wright of Slayden.
