Picture dated 01 August 1973 of US John Erlichman in Washington. Former politician Erlichman, a key figure in the Watergate scandal died at his home at age 73, said his son 15 February. Erlichman president Richard Nixon's domestic affairs adviser was forced to resign from his post over the scandal in 1973 and was convicted two years later for obstruction of justice, conspiracy and perjury in connection with efforts to cover up the burglary of the Democratic National committee offices at the Watergate complex in Washington.
