Press conference on archaeological find in Havelland

23 January 2026, Brandenburg, Potsdam: After a press conference, Juliane Rangnow, honorary archaeologist, holds the wheel cross from the 10th century that she found and the accompanying casting mold in her hands. The cross and the mold will be on display at the Brandenburg an der Havel Archaeological Museum until March 2026 and then at the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in Berlin. The mould found in 1982 during excavations on the Slavic castle rampart in Berlin-Spandau is considered to be one of the oldest pieces of evidence of early Christianization between the Elbe and Oder rivers.
