Gorgeous Gussie Moran, American National Indoors Singles Champion, shows off her outfit, which she will be wearing at Wimbledon tomorrow, designed by Ted Tinling, pictured Sunday 19th June 1949. The dress is a heavy silk jersey trimmed in white satin with a tight waist, gathered skirt and tight bodice. Above the bodice there is a yoke, flounced and sleeveless, but hanging over the shoulders, in an evening dress motif. It is fixed by two white buttons round the neck. With the dress are silk jersey panties trimmed with two inches of open lace. The skirt was short enough for her knickers to be visible during the match, a first for any tournament.
