Chestnut Hill, MASS: Army lieutenant Arthur Ashe proudly displays trophy after winning the U.S. Men's Singles Tennis Championship at Longwood Cricket Club August 25th. Ashe won the title by outlasting unseeded Bobby Lutz of California, 4-6, 6-3, 8-10, 6-0, 6-4. He also became the first Black man ever to win a U.S. men's tennis championship.
