Silhouette of people walking down Ceduna Jetty at Sunset The town of Ceduna (on Murat Bay) was proclaimed in June 1901 but the local people called it Murat Bay until 1915 when the railway came and the siding was also called Ceduna. A year later work began on a jetty. It was a screw pile jetty due to the rocky sea bed. Its final length was 368 metres, and remains that today.
