Mushuau-nipi, Québec, Canada - August 2012. Indigenous ancestral site of Mushuau-nipi is located in the tundra on the migratory path of the George River caribou herds (56th parallel), 250 kilometers northeast of Schefferville. Today the Corporation du Mushuau-nipi organizes stays on this site to share Innu knowledge within First Nations communities (including toward young people) as well as outside. To reach the Mushuau-nipi you have to take a local train - Tshiuetin - during 10 to 13 hours to reach Shefferville before taking off aboard a Beaver, the legendary hydroplane of the Canadian North and fly over vast expanses of waters, wetlands and peatlands.
