Video footage taken in Wakayama shows a beehive hanging under the branch of a persimmon tree branch in an unusual phenomenon first noticed around September in a field owned by grower Yoshiharu Mori, 74. Video was shoto on November 12,15,2017,Japan.Honey bees typically build their hives in hollows and other places more difficult to detect. The exposed hive is populated by non-native Western honey bees, according to Shigetomi Matsuno, 31, a curator at the Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Natural History.
