Yezidis trapped in the Sinjar mountains are rescued

MOSUL, IRAQ - AUGUST 10: Thousands of Yezidis trapped in the Sinjar mountains without food and water for days as they tried to escape from Islamic State (IS) forces, are rescued by Kurdish Peshmerga forces and People’s Protection Unit (YPG) in Mosul, Iraq on August 10, 2014. A Yezidi says: "We left behind all of our relatives." A Yezidi says: "We have become miserable for days. We do not feel good anymore. We have gone to rack and ruin." A Yezidi says: "We have eaten nothing but grass for days. Half of us killed and the other half run away to mountains. Nobody helped us in there." A Yezidi says: "We have experienced bad things. We have been starved and disgraced. Our children became ill and Nobody helped us in there." A Yezidi says: "We have been starved for 2 days. They kidnapped children and killed them.
