Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer answers questions at a weekly press briefing outside the chamber in the Capitol building, saying that Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch evaded answering direct questions during their meeting like the plague, such as on the emoluments clause and the First Amendment, he would act as a barrier to a President who has shown a tendency to overreach. Schumer says of just confirmed Education Secretary Betsy DeVos that his caucus holding the floor overnight exposed her exposes the nominees for who they are, having a profound and positive effect, promising a long debate on the nomination of Senator Jeff Sessions for Attorney General and others.
